Old Dog new tricks
I'm an older teacher and during long lectures I stop and say I forgot what I said. I'm always surprised that the students will repeat what I said. This way I know they are listening and if not I repeat the statement because I know no one was listening. Works every time.
Hi Franco,
Sometimes dogs are really set in their ways, and they don't want to learn new tricks. We have to be open to new ways of doing things so that we are considered to be flexible and adaptable.

If you want to keep a dog young, then you need to teach him new tricks.
I learned an unending amount of knowledge from my student teacher leader. He was about ready to retire, which means I was able to pick his brain apart about what works and what doesn't work. Then, we were able to smash our brains together and mix the old way with some new ways and discovered it to be a very educational experience that I will never forget!
Hi Ana,
Sharing the knowledge is like sharing the wealth. Knowledge is power and most of our students want to absorb our knowledge.

Hi John,
Do you think it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks?
Patricia
I really appreciate your oops I forgot what I was going to say.
Old doesn't mean used up. You have a wealth of knowledge and you seem to be getting a good response from your students. Good trick!
