common instructor mistakes
I have told students that they should not expect an A which was very wrong. I will not do that agian.

Some students will use this as a way to prove the instructor wrong. They get the attitude that I am going to show he/she that I can get an A.

It is good that you are able to recognize your mistakes. I have never done this, but I have had instructors tell me not to expect an A as a student. I never really took it as malicious intent, but more as a motivating factor to overcome their challenge.

You have learned is what matters most. Just always remember, we are in the business to encourage and guide our students. It can be very demotivating to tell students that they should next expect an A. They should expect and work toward an A.
