mistakes

The most common mistake seems to be not listening to a student. You can hear a person, but are you truly listening

Hi Jacob,
I have been teaching for over 22 years, and I quickly discovered that I learn a lot from my students, such as the latest fashion, a great remedy for a sickness, an exciting movie that is out, etc. Anyone can teach you something.

I have found, that as we listen to them , they also see thay we care about their succes in eduction, and profetion. I alway tell them to also listen to each other. you never know who you will teach you some thing new.

I have found that the more we know, the more we have to learn. By listening to our students whether they are verbally telling us what they need in order to understand material or nonverbally showing us in scores that they are not getting something shows us as instructors that we need to be ever mindful that their voices should not go unheard. If we fail to listen to them, we are making the biggest mistake an instructor can make.

Hi Marianna,
Listening to students really teach you a lot about the student. Listening is key. There is much to be learned from simply listening.

Hi Dennis,
As educators, we truly need to listen to our students. I know we are busy, but we must make it a point to give our students our undivided attention.
