Maintining a professional image
Alway do the right thing in class ,just like you will in your job as a Healthcare worker.Do not dismiss any unproffesional behavior.That foesn't mean that you cant use humor in the class ,and/or higlight certain situations.Just do it professionally

Yes they will imitate the instructor, therefore the instructor needs to be professional at all times.

Students will also pick up on anything the professor does. So if you are unprofessional students will think that they can be unprofessional. Whether we are talking about dress code, classroom behavior, or food and drink policy.

As long as humor is not taken advantage of and learning is still taking place, it is fine to incoporate humor while learning.

I would have to disagree sometimes humor becomes unprofessional very quick. ANd people can get offended
I find humor to be a wonderful teaching tool and do not feel there is any innate conflict between humor and professionalism.
