instructor mistakes
I think this is a very important subject because as human we make mistakes and we can learn how to be better each day.
Hi Andrew,
Students get great confidence and an awesome boost when they can be helpful to the instructor and to other students. A student really feels proud when they can figure out an answer before the instructor does; I make a big deal out of this magical moment for the student.

I believe that we gain more respect by admitting our mistakes and even by soliciting help from students. They love to assist and appreciate that instructors are as fallible as anyone else. A little humor goes a long way, also.
I agree with Jeff. Some of the best instructors, as well as the ones I remember most, are the ones who, when they made a mistake, said so. Then, they went on to correct the problem in a way that not only educated themselves but we their students as well.
Hi Mary,
That's right! We learn from our mistakes. No one is perfect and as sure as we live we will make mistakes.
Patricia
I concur. I tell my students that we learn from our mistakes, so if we don't make mistakes, there is little learning. I emphasize that I learn as much from the students as they learn from me, so admitting mistakes or struggling with a technology glich helps us all to improve.
Hi Phil,
Just as sure as you are human, you will make mistakes. I have been teaching for over 22 years and from time to time I still make mistakes. Continue to put forth great effort, admit when you are wrong, and move forward. Students will respect your honesty.

Hello Jeff,
I wish I could have all my mistakes behind me. Just when I feel fairly confident, along comes a big mistake. I find that admitting my mistakes openly is essential for continuing my work and also maintaining my credibility.
Hi Jeff,
I use each mistake as a way to grow and become better.
Patricia
We are all faulty to a certain degree. We should use on our mistakes as learning tools enhancing growth potential.
I actually think that the instructors who early on made a great deal of mistakes(especially embarrassing ones) tend to be the best instructors overall. Mistakes give us the input needed to better ourselves.

Hi German,
I concur! Mistakes should be as life lessons learned.
