Respect for fellow instructors
Even if your coworker is the worst instructor never express this to the students. It can undermine the whole program.
Great topic! Students like to deiscuss instructors-- who they think is great and terrible. i try to give a strenght and change the subject because I know that the tides can change quickly on me
Hi Barbara,
I like your perspective! Colleagues MUST stick together! We have to demonstrate and teach to our students the importance of teamwork.
Patricia
THE MORALE OF YOUR SCHOOL IS DEPENDENT ON THE ABILITY OF THE FACULTY TO REMAIN SUPPORTIVE OF EACH OTHER AT ALL TIMES. MANY TIMES STUDENTS WILL TRY TO UNDERMINE OTHER INSTRUCTORS AND IT'S IMPORTANT TO LET THEM KNOW RIGHT AWAY THAT EVERYONE MUST WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM. THIS SETS A STANDARD OF PROFESSIONALISM AMONGST THE GROUP AND LET'S THEM KNOW YOU ARE A TEAM PLAYER, SOMETHING IN WHICH THEY WILL HAVE TO TO WHEN THE STUDENT ENTERS INTO THE WORK FORCE.
Hi Donna,
We must stick together as colleagues and look out for each other.
Patricia
I agree. It is not professional to talk about your fellow calleagues.
Hi Deborah,
The instructors must stick together! Instructors should never have a conversation with a student about another instructor. The conversation needs to be directed to appropriate personnel. I end the conversation immediately and let my cowork know what took place.
