5- Working Too Hard And Burning Out
6- Not Asking For Help

Hi Chanelle,
Mistakes are bound to happen them, accept them, learn from them, and move on.

Patricia Scales

I would say that my best mistake is allowing anxiety to overtake me. Once that happens all of my planning goes out of the window. I have learned to take a deep breath and take my time and it falls into place. If a mistake is made then I make sure to apologize and make the correction immediately.

I feel that I have made some common first-time mistakes already but then I sit back and allow myself a little slack since I just started teaching in a college setting in June, 2011. I took the information in the first 4 ED courses to heart and have tried to model myself after the great teachers I had here. I found that when I made a mistake with my last class, I 'fessed up and it really seemed to clear the air. So I guess its okay to let them see you stub your toe every once in a while. I sat down and went over my last two classes and listed my goods and bads and learned a lot from that. Mindy Smith

Hi Jean,
I concur! Move on and learn from each mistake to become a better person.

I couldn't agree more...you can't dwell on a mistake or "live in the past".

Hi Roxanne,
We will make mistakes as long as we live. Try to prepare as much as possible and do the very best that you can. When a mistake is made, own up to it, learn from it, and move forward.
Patricia

I am always eager to allow students observe my mistakesand the handling of them. Forgiveness is important in life and so is I am sorry

Hi Ibrahim,
Great list! These surely are mistakes that will lead you to no where. Take heed to this list and you will make for a better instructor.
