Being Prepare

I can't stress how important is being overprepared for class.

I agree so I usually I do my research before each class. Not only have I shown the respect of every individual in the classroom , that their education cost a great penny and you deserve to have your instructor prepared and the knowledge needs to be obtain from me the instructor. So Time is money and education isn't cheap. So I really am a stickler for studying on on the course I do teach. The respect comes from your student and the moral of the class will be high. This could easily inspire your students to do the same.

Instructors are more nervous if they are not prepared. Students can recognize when instructors are not prepared for class.

Being prepared for class reduces instructor anxiety and therefore results in positive professional competent instructor image and helps with class management

The best thing to do, if you feel unprepared, is draw upon your experience and a) assign a research project that will lead into the next class section, effectively giving a heads-up as to the next class session or b) have a secondary assignment that acts as a test that reiterates all the elements already learned.

I have been teaching for close to a year now, and I still struggle with being prepared. In my case, it certainly has to do with naturally being somewhat disorganized, but a large part is also do to too much on my plate sometimes.

I constantly strive to become more organized, and I've made vast improvements, but I've also learned some coping techniques to help me on those inevitable occasions that I'm underprepared. One is that I always act like what I'm doing is part of my plan. I never let myself become flustered.
