As humans we all want to be liked. As an instructor we are no different, however, we need to recognize that being liked as an instructor is not the same as being respected and not necessarily the best way to lead a class.

Once you earn you students respect for your knowledge and experience, they will eventually get to like you for your style of teaching and willingness to share your knowledge and expertise.
