Enthusiasm for the profession
Students will respond best to an instructor who demonstrates enthusiasm for their own profession.
My passion for the profession I have chosen is what helps me to be successful. Sharing those experiences with students gives me credibility as a nurse and as an instructor. My concern is for those students are not entering nursing because of the passion, rather they want to be nurses because of job security.
Hi Esperanza,
That's right! Enthusiasm begins with the instructor! The instructor sets the tone.

Emotions are contagious. Enthusiasm shows the students that the instructor is passionate about what she is doing and will pass on that enthusiasm to her students.
It's the same principle for singing groups that perform before a headliner; to get the audience going.
Every 5 weeks I get a new class and I always like to be enthusiastic when I introduce myself I do not try to be someone I am not,I am myself and students like that! also I let them know that I am here to help each and everyone of them succeed and I also let them know that I will not let anyone fail and that I will do all I can to help them do well in their course also I let them know that my office door is always open if they need help or have a problem that they need to discuss.
