Professionalism

Dressing the role of the instructor means that you lead by example.

Hi Steven:

I agree. Everything I do is to lead by example.

I abide by all of the school and classroom rules. I am on time to class, come prepared, dressed appropriately with name badge, etc., and do not eat or drink anything other than clear water in a clear container inside the classroom. My cell phone is usually in my office, but if I do have it on my person, it is on silent mode and doesn't get taken out of my pocket.

A student once commented that I had stepped outside the classroom to eat a treat one of the students had made for the class. I replied that I could not expect them (the students) to follow the rules if I didn't.
