Partnering with other instructors
One thing I love about where I work is the rapport between instructors. When something works well for one instructor, instead of others feeling threatened, we all learn from their success. We share ideas and teaching methods. We even share and help each other with assignment ideas. I believe that this makes us even stronger as a department.
Hi Christina,
You are right! We have to be our students biggest cheerleader and let them know that we are there for them.

I could not have said it better myself! Some of our students have never seen a true support system and we could be the only example of that they will ever come in contact with.
I am truly impressed! The essence of solid teamwork. The students are fortunate to have this kind of effort going on behind the scenes.
By partnering with other teachers it shows a united front and a sense of security for the students, the students will feel like it's a family
I agree with you, sharing teaching skills, knowledge, discussing stratagies help me tremediously when I first became an instructor. I was scare and more afraid of "what will the students think of me", "am I doing this right?". After getting together with other instructors that have been teaching for quite a while, they were able to give me some teaching techniques and "tricks" (as you would say). With these imputs and tips, I tend to think now, that I am not so bad at it.
We keep all records of previous classes and even meet up with the instructors that are teaching the class the following term. That way we can talk about what worked and what did not and share examples of student work. It really helps the next instructor build on what's already in place and improve it based on student feedback to really make a fun and engaging classroom.
