New Lessons for First time instructors
I think every one should read this and work on this assessment to be an effective and respected teacher in class.
Ive been a instructor for about 1.5 year...it has been in the last 6-8 months that i have had to really focus on GOOD lesson planning and structures. If your lessons have Objectives with the chapters you teach that need to be the focus of the plan and everything else will fall in place after that. It will take you sometime to tweek the plan to make it work for your class make up but in the long run it helps....one thing that i have noticed that i felt if i got the plan right the first time that is all i needed...but when you know better you do better therefore you will always be making new plans to keep up with the changes of the medical field!!
Students want good professionally motivated instructors who show that they care about the student career goals achievements.
A good role model for the first-time instructor is to demonstrate professionalism, experience,and expertise at sharing that information with students. After all, he/she is the subject-matter-expert.
