Adult Classroom Management
The Course 113 is a great course to take if you want to learn about different Classroom Management Styles. I was able to determine that I was the "GUIDE". I found this course to be a useful resourse in the proper techniques to get a students attention as well as useful dicipline tips. Would recommend for the beginner or experienced Instructor.
william, what other traits were you able to identify and what changes if any do you feel you can implement within your classroom in 2014? Change is the only constant and measuring the results of any changes you plan to make can be used to better understand the impact you were able to generate from your actions.

Cynthia, what plans do you have in the next 90 days to take what you have used and take some level of action? The key to any type of change is to have a plan and then to implement that plan so think now about one change you would like to make and then set a reasonable timetable by which you can implement that change. I found course 113 informative and helpful in determining my overall teaching style...I feel I tend to be a guide most of the time.
Miklyn, thanks for the affirmation. Seasoned instructors can gain from this class as it realigns us with skills we may have allowed to lapse over time. You hear this in sports all the time about how a coach went back to the "basics" and allowed the team to blossom and further progress. We all need reminders from time to time.

I learned a lot about myself as I went through this course. I am more of a controller than guide. Therefore, I paid special attention to the areas that would assist me in moving towards a guide.

Yes, I would recommend this course for a beginning instructor. I learned which classroom management style I use; as well as, things I can do to improve. I am also pleased with a lot of things that I found that I am doing right to help my students achieve their goals.
