Nicole,
Very True Nicole. As much as they would feed off a positive attitude, they will also feed off a negative one.

While all of these are important, I beleive the best is a combination of a positive attitude, good integrity, and common sense.
All the soft skills are important but I think that having a positive attitude goes along way. Student feed off your attitude in the classroom.
Crystal,
Criticism can get sticky at times. The important part is delivery of the criticism.

Flexibility is something that all teachers should know. Also the hardest thing to balance.

While they are all important, I feel attention to detail is one of the most important. If someone is able to notice fine details, especially, pertaining to students, then that person will be more aware of when something is wrong with their students,be better able to gauge if their students are understanding lecture, or when they are unfocused and it is breaktime.
I think that some of the most important soft skills were talked about in the course.
-being able to critize a person without insulting them
-being able to work with co-workers
common sense helps get through many situations and without it most situations become overwhelming
In most every workplace, there are strssful situations. I believe the ability to manage stress is a very important soft skill. Also, I would put a positive attitude and ability to help others at the top of the list.
Common sense!! Goes so far in the work environment, as far as teaching it not sure on how, but to lead by example and explaing your way of thinking.
I think the most important soft skills for success in the work place are: dependability, good work relationships, integrity and common sense. All of these are good soft skills in the work place to be more productive. If your not dependable or a team player it will not be a productive work environment,
I think that it depends on the situation you are in at the time. They are all important but you have to be able to adapt to whatever is put in front of you....and sometimes that is difficult. I find it is a process.
Customer Service which involves co-workers, students, administrators and the community.
Effective Work Relationships--being a good team player. Cooperatively work with others to achieve the mission of your institution. Common goals are important to achieve as well as individual goals.
I feel that positive attitude is the most important soft skill in the workplace. I think when one person has a negative attitude, it can be very contagious and before long, other people are on board with this "mob mentatlity".
I believe that the most important soft skills are being able to listen to a student concerns in order to be able to help them effectively. Also being able to make correct decisions and judments.
I beleive so. The other soft skills will follow, so to speak.
I'm going to have to go with a positive attitude, common sense, and trying to be flexible with students. The first two seem to be obvious choice to me, but I have found that being flexible is very important and appreciated by my students.
