Paul,

Many instructors are finding it harder to prevent plagiarism with out technology such as turnitin. Giveing quality feeback is important as many students make several grammar mistakes as we are in the age of text messaging.

Antoine Lewis

I use a Document Processing program in my Office Technology class. It allows me to see the progress of my students instantly. In addition, I use Turnitin to check my students' papers for plagiarism.
These programs enable me to aid students in the completion of their assignments. They also allow me to give prompt feedback when necessary.

Terry,

This is the next generation of learning in the classroom. Videos and simulations can be empowering. Student can watch and apply what they learn. They get to learn from mistakes and emulate real life scenarios.

Antoine Lewis

saroj,

Powerpoint in the classroom is popular and has allowed students to learn by visually seeing what is being taught. Videos are helpful for those who struggle with lectures, and may do better visually seeing the content being applied.

I am using variuos manufacturer supplied technologies, such as training videos and dealership simulations

Technology I am currently using in class room is powerpoint.A times it helps students to understand better.I also use videoes and students have to submit assignments on line.

Sherry,

It is awesome to see that you are using technology in the classroom especially as it relates to math. Many students today learn differently and having various delivery methods as it relates to a subject such as math is good.

Antoine Lewis

Jose,

It is awesome to see that you are using technology in the classroom and incorporating resume building in your English course.

Antoine Lewis

I teach math at a technical school and in my classroom, I use several technology tools. I like using short power points when I need to give students notes and study guides. I do not have an overhead projector in my classroom, so I also like to use lecture videos that are available with our textbook. The reason why I use them is to give the students one clear view of how to solve the problems without my body blocking their view. I also use an electric gradebook that is through my school where my students can keep up with their grades, can communicate with students, and attach documents that the students may need.

In my English course, we are using computers to enhance several techniques including the use of job search engines, resume templates, and practice with Microsoft Word as it pertains to resume building.

Richard,

It is great that you provide various ways to deliver your lesson and use classroom technology. In the 21st century in bringing technology and education together is important as it allows for one to present content to different learning styles.

Antoine Lewis

I use Powerpoint, the internet, YouTube, DVD's, and an online grading system. What technology I use depends on the lesson. I find that using technology to enhance/complement a lesson helps to deliver the intended learning outcomes to a wide variety of learning styles.

Jonathon,

We are in a digital age and most students prefer options when learning due to various learning styles. A combination of lecture and videos is a good teaching method and use of classroom technology.

Antoine Lewis

We use laptop computers for training videos. I think that helps break up the manotiny of lecture and also provides an mental state change for learning. Students can also use the laptops for electronic manuals. I think the use of these will help for the future as we can clearly see computers are here to stay and as we see less use of paper manuals and books.

Natalie,

Document camera is a benefit when it comes to classroom technology. It is an exciting tool for both student and teacher. I have read that it is cost effective and can be intergrated with other types of technology.

Antoine Lewis

We use power point and a document camera.

Victoria,

Students today have many learning styles and videos are a great tool. The students who learn best through hearing (aurally) can find virtual learning useful if there are video clips, virtual lectures, and video conferences because listening and speaking are important for auditory learners. Good luck preparing students for clinicals.

Antoine Lewis

Aldgenette,

Simulations have been a key part of training for doctors and military. Many institutions have realized it is a great way to learn and benefits various learning styles as you mentioned.

Antoine Lewis

Our program is considering implementing videos of hand instrumentation that students can watch on their own time and at home along with one on one training in the clinic. Students can then be better prepared for their clinic sessions and perhaps have more pertinent questions for their instructors. Quite similar to "flip learning".

Since I teach in the Information Technology and Office Technology areas, all of the classes that I teach are web-based courses. While web-based courses have their good and bad points, I like the use of simulations because it works well for all learning styles. It has a component that's a teach me/show me feature with hints available; as well as being able to plug in head sets for listening to instructions.
