Using relationships

The students take pictures of instruments for flashcards and must come up with an audionym or relationship for instant recall.

Teaching new concept can be enhanced by inferences/
relationship.Students can likewise develop critical
thinking and understand scientific rationale of
every action and interventions.

I love getting the students involved in the learning situation as well

When everybody learns, everybody wins!

This is a good activity but I make photocopies of the instruments and we play go fish in teams and the team wins pizza for lunch. But they always seem to end in a tie thats the great part which means everybody wins.

I always find that using acronyms is a good teaching strategy. There is one that I love to use for the Body Systems in which I broke down to make it relevant to the dental field. Students seem to love it, and everyone learns, every time.
