I agree. I use that method all the time.

I agree with you I have found that when you walk around the room students will move with you and this keeps them awake. the change in your voice and what you say helps also. What works for me is saying something funny that relates to what you've said and they remember this for their quizzes.

LaKisha, I agree hands on works best in building memory.

I agree. I try to utilize all of the examples that you have mentioned in my lectures. The related experience and hands on of the equipment seems to be most powerful. The students can think back to the personal experience therefore helping them to remember what we were studying/ going over at the time. And of course, I think hands on is very influential to learning. I always tell students to recall the steps to learing the activity and that will help them remember why a particular step is necessary.

Silence also van get attention, so pausing helps, too.

I agree with this statement. Changing my tone of voice does help bring attention to the subject. Sometimes a softer tone interjected seems to bring attention to the subject. Also related experiences helps to draw in the students. I try this often.

I change my tone of voice often to keep my student's attention.

Jennifer, instructor movement is a successful way to engage and involve your learners in a way that adds no additional time to teaching.

This works well, i agree.
Standing or sitting at the desk is mundane and does not capture your audience in the least bit. I find that walking around, asking questions that reiterate what I am lecturing about helps tremendously.

I think utilizing various techniques not only with changes in voice but also animation helps to maintain focus.

I not only walk around the room I am very animated, change the timbre of my voice and I incorporate humor.

I agree completely with this. I have noticed incorporating those little stories also helps students retain the information you are teaching.

When you see positive results, it is best to continue the practices that gave you those results.

That is something that I also do. I do see the difference in the classes when I do animation by changing my tone, getting into character ans walking around

All those things are more engaging than just straight lecture without them, I agree.
