using visuals
Visual aids work extremely well in most classes
I find that a picture, diagram, flash cards etc.. helps students not only learn and remember, but also fosters good study habits
Christopher, I agree that simple graphics are the starting point.

Occasionally, images presented in textbooks are complicated and difficult to understand. It seems students respond well to simpler, less complicated images or line drawings they can recreate, particularly for anatomy.
yes i agree this visual method it work in most learner and lead them to share a thought and try to do some thing diffrent.
Visual aids are the best tool for my students.
Denise, thank you for sharing this wonderful idea and its relationship to the content you teach.

When teaching dental charting, I developed a game called "CHART". It is just like BINGO, except instead of numbers there are pictures of various charting symbols. One student picks a symbol out of a bag and interprets it, then reads it off to the rest of the class. The first student to shout "CHART" wins. They must then read back the charting symbols to ensure a true win. The students love it.
In my classroom, hand-on is a must. However, I have found that a picture or diagram seems to cement a point nicely.
