I have found that allowing the students to come to the front of the class and present to their classmates,students seem to be receptive to this.
Introducing more hands on activities, has been very successful.

engaging students in class activity is very important. Working in a group, powerpoint presentation, these are the various method i apply in my class room. specially while teaching medical Law and ethics or Human relation. While teach medical terminology i ask the students to be creative by using word root, prefix or suffix to make new term of their own. the discussion topic should be enganging students or Stidents!!!!

I have learned that students often rececive information a lot better from their classmates. I make "teach-back" assignments. They have to present their assignment to the class the way that an instructor does, with at least one visual aid. I can be power point, hand-outs or posters.

Yes, students enjoy providing feedback of their learning experience through demonstration and by discussing the content in front of their classmate. I call it sharing the podium.
