Memory Aids
What are some of your suggestions for memory aids? For example I tell students the way to remember "brachi" means arm is that my mother used to tell me "I will break your arm" when I touched something I shouldn't
I do similar things. My students remember brady- is slow because Tom Brady is slow...their words, not mine. In both med term and phlebotomy I/we are always coming up with fun and silly ways to remember. The more off the wall, the more likely they are to remember.
I remember by making a song of what I am trying to remember.
Sue , if we create a collaborative learning environment, students will share the best way they learned class content. This invites others to use those successful strategies.

Throughout the years I have had students share their memory aids with me and I still share some of them with my current students.
Sue , I like that one. I suggest you invite your students to make them up and share them with the class. We don't have to be the only source for memory aids.
