An Activity done each Class
Consider doing a different activity each class time. When mid-terms or finals approch, take a vote from the students; which activity was their favorite and use that activity for review for their final exam.

I love the idea of having the students vote, however, it takes a perfect size of class for this to work. It seems that smaller classes end up agreeing more and the same activity is voted on over, and over again, while in larger classes, it is harder to agree.
I have found that students enjoy and trust an instructors judgement for what activity will be done that day. It also helps make sure you are touching on all different learning styles.
Adnan, yes, I agree that adding the theoretical component to the hands on is a successful approach.

practice make a person perfect and hands on acivities engages the student to participate more. While doing practical part also keep adding some of theoritical component too.
Maureen, I think it is an advantage to have a practical course. Theory can be hard to grasp for learners.
