Group activities
I have played jeapordy on the board and tabu with flash cards with the students for fun games. Doing this course has given me some new ideas for games to keep them interested.
Misty, I like that idea. They moan and groan about taking tests. Getting them involved and using some of the questions would help boost their confidence in taking the quizes/tests.
Thanks for your idea
Kathy
I like the idea of the ball toss, I can see it working well in my small class. What a good idea to get them moving and thinking on their feet.
Misty, this idea you described is the ultimate way to involve learners with content. It amazes me because they write harder questions than I would have.

I love all the ideas I am getting from this forum! One instructor I know has the students break up into pairs and she assigns sections of the each chapter to them and they create their own test questions. They then present them to the class, and she will put some of those questions on the next test.
Yvette, I'm glad you now have a variety of different activities to incorporate in your classes.

Ma. Louella , they don't realize that the hangman tests their knowledge as well as a quiz does, but it looks easier to them.

this type of activities are fun. when I do not have a quiz or test scheduled for the next session, I play hangman with the students before class is over. If they win I tell them that i will not give them a quiz next time. Of which they usually do win because they all work together to get the questions right.
I think I will try this when I have a smaller class. As well as hangman, and bingo is ALWAYS a great hit with my students. :))
tanya, I like that the ball toss needs only one prop for the instructor to bring, but it is very effective.
