Love the group activities

I am a fan of the group activities. Just getting the students out of their seats and involved was a major plus. I teach an evening class, so most of the time the students are tired from the earlier part of their day. I did notice that they were more attentive and retained more of the information the next day. kjc

Inga, I hope you enjoy these teaching ideas as much as your students do. Thanks for applying what you have learned.

I am a new instructor and these activities sound so much fun. I like “Relay Race” and “Ball Toss”. I definitely will try tomorrow. Thank you!

Williana, I am sure you had success with this and that is the key to good learning.

I like the group activities ideas too. I've actually played a game similar to the "term and matching cards" in a casual setting, allowing everyone to move around and get to know each other. It seems like a great idea to adapt and implement in the classroom.

Blake, so activities give you not one, but two benefits. Thank you for sharing your story.

I have found these group activities engage the students much better and they also develop group bonding skills much better. I have taught classes before where nobody gets to know their fellow classmates. When I employ group activities, not only are the scores better on exams, but the students get to know each other much better too.

A very effective way to diversify learning esp. with evening classes.

Kimberli, I agree that activities are essential in evening classes.
