Crossword Puzzle
I like this idea as a possible take home quiz or homework assignment. It is a change of pace from flashcards and gets them using another source to study or review from. I also like that it would be like a "pre-test" so they can see what areas or words they are weak in.
I agree. It helps the students to study without making it boring. Students seem to be more prepared.
I've given small crossword puzzles to students as a part of homework and encouraged them to work together. It has really been successful.

I find that students either LOVE crosswords and word searches or they absolutely HATE them. With that in mind, I try to accomodate all of my students by either making them a group effort, or mixing them with another kinesthetic activity.
I like the idea of teams doing crosswords puzzles together. I have many students who have never done a crossword puzzle and would overwhlemed with this project.
I feel after the students became familiar with them they would work well as a take home test or homework assignment.
In the past I used them as extra credit which gave the student the option of doing one or not.
Arranging for students to do the puzzles in teams first before making it an individual assignment is a suggestion I would make.
I have to agree with you on this one. I myself love crossword puzzles so I decided to use one for an open book test. I really had some students that did not like this assignment. Maybe if they were able to work on it in a group, they would enjoy it more.

I like crossword puzzles for the students. It definitely does give them some more study material. This is also good for my students that are very quick with other assignments. It beats me telling them to study qietly while everyone else finishes up. Giving them a crossword puzzle a day before a quiz and having them work on it without the help of their book would definitely let them know where they need to focus more studying time that evening.
Many instructors use the puzzles as homework to reinforce class lessons already presented.
Crossword puzzle can be fun for some students and the other student dislike them. I believe that a crossword puzzle shoudl be a take home assignment
Crossword puzzles work well for students who enjoy doing them but can be a challenge for others. However it is a great activity for Medical Terminology
The crossword gets the students active even when the vocabulary is not their strong point.
It is a low risk and fun quiz.
I think using a crossword would be very benificial for med. term. I think it could very easily be used as a quiz or take home quiz.
