Word Search

I always thought that word search activities did not really teach anything, but I guess in Medical Terminology it does help because of the repitition of seeing and spelling the words. Do you think word searches have application in other classes?

Misty, I agree and have repeatedly told my students that the more you say it, see it, write it, or read it-- the more you will remember it and hopefully that will translate into feeling more confident of the accuracy of their recall.

That is a productive time fillet.

Word searches are also great in lab classes. It gives the students something to do if they are finished or waiting to complete a skill.

I'm glad to hear it helped your mom, too.

I start during word search game this week with my mom to help with her findings of words also her spelling because she is recovering from a stroke and the assessment from her was positive .
So I will start working on something for my students in my next class.

I think its a great learning tool

Yes, I think they make excellent activities as homework, or extra point work within any body of content.
