Scavengar Hunts
I have found that using Medical Terms and making it into a scavengar hunt is a fun and new way to learn the definitions of terms.
Georgiajo, I love this strategy. Thank you for sharing your creative and successful ideas.

For this game I create 2 stacks of index cards with answers and 2 stacks with clues or questions.
I then take the answers and tape them all over the school, both sets.
Thenk I split my class in two teams and give each team a stack of teh the clues/ questions and they have a set time limit to gather all the answers that match the questions and have to be sure not to get repeats as that means they are stealing the other teams answers.
The first team to complete the hunt in the time frame given is awards bonus points on their final.
Terry, I'm glad you are asking for more detail on this activity so you can use it yourself.

Hi Georgiajo, I am very interested in the scavenger hunt game. Can you give me some more details on how you play the game and what I need to prepare for the game. Very curious in California.
Alice, any way we can invite them to read medical articles is a good approach.

Searching for terms also gets them reading a medical article and have better comprehension of what they read.
Brooke,I agree, these are important in learning.

I like the idea of a scavenger hunt because this has the teams working together and keeps everyone moving and having a good time, this is always important in learning.
Merrick , this must be a consideration when teaching a variety of people.

and also this newer generation is a fast paced now type of people so they would want to get it over with as soon as possibvle
I agree and I also think the competition is incentive as well.
I think people like scavenger hunts because they are naturally curious.
