We use crossword puzzles as homework for the students. In other words..the student has to create their own crossword puzzle using appropriate medical terminology. Helps them think and learn at the same time.

I agree. I like to utilize crosswords for a class activity. I project the crossword onto the whiteboard and place different colored markers on the front table. As I read the questions the class can work together to get the correct answer and then someone must go up to the board and fill in the answer.

I will utilize crossword puzzles in my classes going forward. This type of activity may be utilized not only in a term definition scenario; but also to ask a question that requires an answer.
