Crossword Puzzles and word search

I have used crossword puzzles and word search in the class before. I also use word part cards, not for the matching, but to make words with the different parts.

Word search is great to help students spell long medical terms correctly

Being that I have been in education for 40 years, I remember the days of doing this with graph paper. Ah the internet makes it so much easier. The students love the challenge of crosswords and the ease of wordsearches. It is a way of learning terms and fun all at the same time.

I agree, I think the students learn more from a crossword puzzle.

My instructors have been having great sucess using crossword puzzles as review for class, but for test preping as well.

Cheryl, either of these words based activities can reinforce content.

In the past, the students seem to like the word search more, however, I believe that they retain more with the crossword puzzles.

Are the bonus questions more difficult

i printed out the puzzle as well, I hope I will get the same effect with my students, It sounds fun i always liked crossword puzzles, it gets your brain to work a little bit more

This is definitely a learning tool to keep your students engaged as well as fun.

I printed off the word search for my class today, and they had fun while reiterating.

Stephanie, if we can disguise review with an activity that is fun and engaging, we will higher retention of content.

They are a great activity to help supplement the course material and they are a good review tool.

Crossword puzzles and word searches are great to supplement lectures and assignments.
