medical terminology , future plans
Iam new instructor with new students, only two weeks,i try to find out simple class activities to help them to be familiar with medical terms.
Asya, as many times as you can get them to go over the content is a good idea.

i suggested to the students to simply cover the terms and then try to remember the meaning after they have gone through the chapter and that worked well. some also used flah cards. but now i will implement games and word searches, puzzles etc to help them retain information easily

Alice, if you can create an energizing review strategy, the students will stay engaged and interested.

I am going to use some of the techniques mentioned in my review class. It's all the material they've already been exposed to, but now they'll be able to connect to it in a different, possibly more enriching, way!
I have found the use of games has increased student information retention. It has also helped to increase my peer and student reviews. I am excited to implement the newer games presented here. The change with games will also alleviate boredom.
Scott, self awareness of ones own learning style will serve the student well throughout school.

A great tactic to ask the students how they have retained the information. This both gives you class awareness and gives the students a sense of self awareness.
Kanisha, you are asking them what works for them, whichis an excellent idea. Thanks for sharing it.

I quiz them first, then I ask them what method did they use to remember the terminology. This help me know how to teach it!
