Syllabus serve like GPS to the student

Syllabus is very important information that a student should always have first day of the class. It is like a GPS or road map for learners to follow learning activities and follow the outline of their reading materials and assignments.

Right. Syllabus works as a guide for the students. They know what to expect next class so that they can prepare themselves beforehand.

Agree. Perhaps the analogy is a bit off. GPS precision with defined waypoints and end location may not work for all students. A guide, certainly. Clear objectives and description of assessment? Absolutely. The way each learner gets to the destination ...that's a little trickier. Nevertheless, I think a syllabus is a valuable instrument for both the instructor and the student..
