Designing and developing online courses

as myself as an instructor students can too get great results by taking on-line courses it helps to retain alot of information.

Hello Ervin,
I completed 2 degree on-line. I enjoy on line learning. In order for the student to be successful with on line courses they must take own ship of their learning and engage in the classroom discuss. Student must be self-motived and ask the instructor for help when required. I took traditional classes for my first degree and the instructor spend time talking about what happen in their life and the material was not correlated to the course subject. On line course are not easy to complete because of the self-disciple student must develop to be successful.

Amos ,
An outline needs to be detailed, but yet not overwhelming.

I new to writing outlines so I wanted to lean more about art of writing and following my own outline.

Having being an online instructor since 2008 and recently getting a Master's online I have learned a lot.

Teaching is totally different once you take online courses. You learn from other instructors what to do and what not to do. I often found myself wondering "Do I do this?" Since completeing the online learning as a student I have incorparated a lot of the do's and dont's I faced into my teaching skills.

To me there is no better way to handle a faced based life style and getting an education than an online classroom.

Kassy,
I love how you say that!!! It is so true!!

this is exactly why navigational simplicity - as outlined in this module, is an important part of course design.. my motto is.. If I can't find it, it's not there... do I don't expect students to go hunting for learning objects either...

Thank You. At time I lose track of which system does what!

nicely stated

I am teaching and taking online courses with different requirement and software. I am finding that each has its' strengths and weaknesses. One system is much more intuitive to use and I don't have to spend as much time figuring out how to do something as the other class. I find, that as a student, the classes are very well-constructed and I am learning a lot more than I might had I a need to sit in a classroom

You are right....if you have a course that is set up correctly, then retaining info should come fairly easy.
