Resources

Add resource web links for students to use in the discussions. The websites add validity to your thought process and gives the student another way to validate what the instructor is trying to get across to the student. Such websites might be career related (i.e AAPC or AHIMA) or geared toward rules and regulations such as CMS. New industry trends can be communicated with web links as well , such as with ICD 10.

You are absolutely right, Jacqueline. They are further resources and tools for the material. I have a discussion topic about continuity errors in films or TV shows. Some students even went on their own and found websites with actual videos where you could see the errors. That made for a more interesting conversation because they could actually watch the errors themselves, even if they had never seen the show or film.

I really like your idea about posting a website with industry trends, I am going to find one that relates to my course!

Jacqueline,
ICD 10 is a perfect example of a wonderful resource. I like how you add them to your discussions as this is a very active place for them to pick up the resources.
