Integrity of Asynchronous Assignments

How can an online instructor be certain that the results of an asynchronous assignment are actually the product of the student's own work?

I do like that program to help students...at least the first year students!! So many come into college not knowing about citing or how to do so.

I've seen some really neat technology built in to some college course shells that actually run the posting through turn it in and give you a score (percentage) of what was used else where. Although, this can be misleading if the student say copies the question before the answer they may get 10% plagiarized but in actuality they just copied the question. From my experience there is nothing better than good ole' judgement. If you have been reading a students work and then it gets "really good", you need to consult "The Google"! :-)

Anna,
No guarantee, but we would to think that if a student is paying for an education, they will do their own work. I know....I live in a perfect world!!
