kinesthetic learning
I have found that when I interact my students with the topic that the daily lecture is going to be on they take the most from it. Kinesthetic learning is very effective with most of my students and they seem to retain info. better that way as well.
Nathan,
Yes, we've all "borrowed" from the science lab idea - real life projects and collaborative group work help to create a ,ore hands on feel to more passive subject areas.

Traditional science courses have long incorporated laboratory time into the coursework. That has always proven successful for the kinethetic learner as it is applied learning.
What have others done to make "lab time" in non-science courses?
Rex,
This sounds really interesting and I would love you hear more examples from you ...
Dr. Ruth Reynard
I teach mostly exercise science related classes and my students are very kinesthetic. I have recently decreased the amount of time I spend lecturing and am doing more in class projects. I've actually left it up to the students and THEY have voted for more participatory learning every time.
