Software
In one of my classes I teach a software program used for medical billing and coding. Some students have technical issues with this program. I have them contact technical support at our school, then the issue gets resolved, but in the meantime, the clock is ticking and students sometimes are late with their work because of this. What do you suggest I offer my students to overcome the technical issues (most are due because they don't follow instructions)?
Marie I had a similar problem in one of my software based courses. Students simply were not reading the instructions completely and it was affecting their grades. I use Jing (free) and Adobe Connect to create a short video of me going of the instructions and I also do a demo of a similar project or procedure. This seems to help but my only concern is I'm working with students who may end up in pharmacy and they are not capable of reading and comprehending very simple instructions.
Marie,
The publisher should be involved in this discussion - is it the McGraw Hill software? I have worked with them in the past - they have different student versions that make things more accessible - please include them in your brainstorming solutions.
