Online courses offer another avenue for education seekers to accomplish their necessary goals.

Love the idea of using different types of ways to stimulate virtual learning by using peer group review, still images and videos. I like the pyramid diagram.

Onlline learning is getting respect in both the "real world" and academia.  That may be one of the positive outcomes of the COVID fight we have been in for the last couple of years.  Instructors are learning thst it isn't the same as face-to-face and students are learning is isn't as easy as they thought.

To me the real keys are to know your students and meet them where they start.  Strong support and providing alternative tools for learning are also important to the process.

I learned alot over the course of this particular section. Quality online courses need to have structural integrity, navigational simplicty, active learner centered learning, and intellectual interaction. It is all incredibly true. Online course can be effective, but they need to follow certain criteria and meet certain standards. I also feel the image provided of a graph showing positive learning gains from a combination of quality media and the level of interaction, really shows the formula can be simple for successful online learning.

The structural integrity of a course can impact the effectiveness of the course and what learners take away from it. A poorly structured course can cause anxiety for faculty and students and risk the course learning objectives not being met.

Online courses are a valuable way of learning

I have learned how importat it is that the content is well organized and makes sense to the students.

The students need to have some skill in the lesson being given and or a drive to learn what is being taught or there isnt a way to truly teach a subject.

Making things easy to find, use and engaging makes learning better

Online courses are becoming increasingly popular and are offered at most schools. Learning how to easily  the programs will be vital to student success.

This information wasn't new to me, but I often think student to student interaction in course design is easily overlooked.  I plan to continue to explore new ways to promote these learning opportunities in my courses.

Reply to Amy Horak's post: Reply to CRAIG MICHAUD's post: This is true, easy navigation and interactions make online courses lively. In addition, students interact more when the post is kept simple, but engaging.

Easy (and consistent) navigation is important for learners.  It evokes confidence in knowing what to do and where in the course.

In this training module I have learned that having easy to naviage modules with lessons will help the learner to naviage the online course. these are tips definitely used when developing my online courses.

In this module I have learned that structual integrity and navigational simplicity are important when designing an online course.  The more structure the course has with navigational support the better the students will be able to learn.  Engaging students in their learning can increase their intellectual interactions and assist them in improving.

Make online courses interctive in order to be engaging.

The structure of a course and interaction among peers and with the instructor are critical to the effectiveness of a course.

The information given here crystalizes what I have been doing intuitively as an online educator since 2013.  On-target to coin the term "structural integrity" with the comparison to building construction.  I will look for an opportunity to create a "virtual field" trip for my students.  Excellent suggestion!

Very imformayive , structured in a way to make learning easy.

Very well designed course.
