Wikis for group projects
I have been somewhat familiar with wikis, but I decided to investigate them a little more after they were mentioned in the this course because I feel they may be a good tool for group projects. The current system one of the institutions I teach for is a little cumbersome and it is not always easy for students to see the work other students have done. The one in particular I am going to research is Wikispaces. The only issue that I can see is the fact that this tool exists outside of the university's LMS and therefore is not easily monitored by the university, but I may be able to work around that.

Lisa,
I think you will really like using Wikis and your students will too. I use them for a group writing. The tool will hold the group accountable. Look at your LMS to see if it has a wiki application.

I've never thought about using the wiki and had not heard of wikispaces. I am going to try to find a way to use that for a small group project with my contracts students. Good peace for both of us.
Donald,
It is so good to hear instructors willing to stretch their "toolbox". I use wikis regularly as it is a great way to facilitate group work. You may want to check to see if your LMS has the ability to do it. You can lock down Wikispaces. I put a link to it through my LMS.
