How can synchronous technologies promote student-centered learning
The problems I have seen with synchronous tools like webinars is that they tend to be teacher-centered. How can these tools be used to promote student-centric learning? For example, in my sessions, I give permission for students to use their webcams so they can discuss their thoughts and ideas with the rest of the group.
zara,
I actually laughed out loud when I read your post! You are so right about empty space. I also know that synchronous learning sometimes just feeds into the professor's needs not so much the students.

Synchronous versus Asynchronous. you are correct. Many times I also find Synchronous learning is just the professor talking away to an empty space. Well stated!
Jaclyn,
Some technologies do allow students to be "in control" of the technology. I think what you are doing is great!
