Synchronous Vs Asynchronous
These types of learning are both useful in the online platform. The synchronous learning engages all students so that comments and feedback are experienced from each other as well as the facilitator in real time. This allows for more spontaneous questioning. Asynchronous of course allows more flexibility for both facilitator and student.
Terry,
I am in agreement with both of you! I think both tools are effective in learning. That is the beauty of online learning!

Hello Karen,
I must agree with you. I have found that utilizing both Synchronous and Asynchronous learning have improved my courses. Asynchronous learning is the foundation upon which my courses run. Synchronous learning is a support that I add on a weekly bases to connect with my students in real-time for clarification of content, assignments, and discussions.

karen,
You are right. It is really dependent on how flexible in time and device the instructor and/or school wants to be.
