I like the point, "the student should feel that all questions are valid". Too many times, intructors use an authoritative teaching style which may result in intimidation which leads to students not asking questions, even though the subject matter is unclear to them. Being open to suggestions and actually listening to feedback from your students is of utmost importance and can only improve a good instructor.
Arvice,
Consistent feedback that is individualized and meaninful and helps the students improve is the key. Thanks for you input.
I honestly agree here. There must be feed back and questioning in order to hold the classes attention and to get them to have a clear understanding of the topic at hand.
Yvette,
Great point, how would you provide these different forums for questions?

The Instructor needs to help the students succeed. The students need to be engaged in their learning. There should be different projects to keep their interest in the course for example digital portfolios and wikis. There are also the blogs, virtual classrooms and podcasting. Different projects and different ways of communicating will keep the students excited to learn and will be able to have an excellent outcome. The instructor should be able to grade the students properly so that there will be proper feedback to the students.
In order to engage students during the learning process, an instructor should ensure that the student is allowed to openly ask questions. The student should feel that all questions are valid. As well, the instructor should provide feedback and be open to suggestions and comments regarding the feedback.
