Plan of Action Form
When a student is not passing, I ask that instructor to send out a plan of action form. It is a contract for the student to understand what is happening to his or her grade.

I'm working on a new syllabus now and am including "Tips to be Successful in this Course." Time management is one tip! ;-)

I love this scaffolding tool. I would love to do this for each of my students, but as Dr. Crews indicated, it is quite time consuming. I have found that having a discussion on time management, and uploading a few time management templates for the students has helped. When I speak with them on the phone, I help them to identify which template would work best for them, and challenge them to fill it out and to identify their moments of free time to get caught up with their studies.

This helps make the learning process more individualized. This can be time consuming, but the responsibility is shifted to the student, which is a good thing. Thanks!
