Reflection
It is so important to be able to reflect on the courses that you have created. An instructor should always continue to be reflective. To be stagnant as an instructor is the worst thing possible.
How do you avoid this?
Cheryl,
Yes, I agree. Keep up with best practices is the best thing to do. Thanks!
I think interacting with faculty in and outside of your department is important. Another way to prevent being stagnant is to look outside of the education and into other industries for best practices.
Dara,
Absolutely. It takes me about three times to teach the same class before I think I have it quite right and then I assess again and continue the evaluation process. ;-)
I agree. Every time I teach the same course again, it provides me with new insight and an opportunity to evaluate the course.
Paula,
You do learn a lot from designing courses. It helps us all grow in become better online instructors. Thanks for your input.
Hello
I have had the opportunity to design a course and it is a great learning experience. An added bonus is to teach that same course that was design which adds to being able to reflect on the content.
Thanks,
Paula
Kimberly,
Typically when an instructors becomes stagnant, the course evaluations that students complete tell the tale. It is so important that we keep learning and stay up to date. Thanks!
