course room evaluation
It is essential to always have a continuous ongoing assessment of the classroom with revisions and updates always being implemented to bring the course to the next level of online learning and the classroom meeting the outcomes and objectives.
Kristina,
On-going is good. We have to see the feedback and revision process as an on-going thing. We have to stay engaged just like the students. Thanks for your input.
Kim,
You are correct because without ongoing evaluations of in-class job performance the faculty member quits growing. Many times students will say one thing in class and to you personally but anonymously they give reality. My University has a ranking system and I am continuously in the 95th percentile. However, I have learned that even if they score you well their written feedback can speak volumes in simple comments.
If students are not encouraged to tell the faculty and the university their experiences with the faculty member, then we cannot grow. If faculty do not grow then we stagnate and eventually we lose those vital connections with the students. And without those connections we are no longer effect in all aspects of our jobs.
Kristina
Kimberly,
For sure. We have to assess everything we do and there is always room for improvement.
Thanks.
I agree with you Kim. There is always room for change in anything we do.
Great reply.

samia,
Giving students areas in which they can add resources for all to use is excellent. It engages them in the process of helping others.
Thanks.
Samia and Kim,
Thank you both for continuing the conversation. We do need need to help students work through assignments/projects that are similar to real world problems. Keep up the good work.

In line with your post, one of the most helpful information I have garnered from my learners has been the 'new' sources they have discovered. I have reviewed these and shared them with course development on numerous occasions. Another helpful learner information has been in the assignment 'integrity' area. I have learnt of assignment purchase sources for example that have been quite a helpful addition to Turnitin, mybox etc.

I have to agree that no course is that perfect or complete to not require improvement. To reflect our speedy ever changing reality, the assignments must reflect real word senarios and problem solving needs; hence, the need for constant reflection and timely revisions.
Thank you for sharing.

Katrina,
Yes, we continue to learn as we teach. When students provide us with their feedback, we can immediately apply that to the course revision process.
There are always improvement that can be made when teaching courses. I find that a lot of helpful information comes from student evaluations. We are supposed to cater to people with different learning styles, so I have always find them helpful in this continuous assessment.
Kimberly ,
Yes, continuous is the key term. Excellent feedback. Thanks.
