The benefits of technology are evident in that students can have immediate access to information. What can be limiting about this is when we want students to use critical thinking skills. As an assessment tool I feel that students need to be able to resolve issues presented in a scenario rather than just answer direct questions. At times I feel these skills are being overlooked because of the accessibility of an instant answer.

The internet has made learning difficult concepts easier. Attaining an advanced education is now more convenient than ever, and adaptive technology is being used in the classroom to help students learn. Feedback is one of the features of this type of educational system. The computer program recognizes the student’s weaknesses and offers ideas to help them learn a particular concept. The information is tailored to any learner’s strengths and weaknesses.

I think that sometimes technology can limit a student. Because they are so used to a format it is difficult for them to think out of the box. They have issues with problem solving because of this.
