Blended classes
If you have taught a blended class, do you feel the students get more out of the online portion or the in class portion?
LATOYA,
Excellent insights. Teaching/learning is a two-sided coin. Thank you for sharing.

I believe that students can get more out of both classes. It depends on the presentation of the information and the learning style of the students. Some students like to research from the comforts of their own home while other students may enjoy hands on experiences conducted within the classroom. I believe that when the teacher creatively compose or teach a lesson with goals and effective objectives... the learning outcomes should be the same. Although, this is not for every case.
Hi Matthew, there are many different ways to deliver a blended course. I think you have to determine which is the best way to deliver the different components of the class and take advantage of the best medium for the specific component. For instance, for content that is simple to understand, the online environment is perfect and then you can focus live sessions on interactions. However, if the content is difficult to understand, then the f2f portion may be the best place to expand on the content and offer alternative explanations, examples, etc. to help learners gain more understanding.
