Making yourself available to students in an online environment will be the key to their success.

This is one of the many unanswered questions for instructors trying reach those elusive students.Texting, phone calls, twitter, facebook, emails and even snail mail has been tried. Some success has been found with each and combinations. Nevertheless, with some students even all of them together have not yet produced results. Keep on trying and let us know if you gave any additional things to try.

Do you have any ideas for what you should do when you make yourself available and yet the students still do not make use of you, the insructor? Example: I have given my students multiple ways of contacting me including texting and yet the students that i know need the help still wont contact me for help even when I make it know over and over and over again that I am willing to help.

I do agree with you. Some of the ways that I make myself available are listing a cell phone number with particular hours and days to call. My campus email is listed along with students being able to message me through the CMS environment.
