I think traditional classrooms, like traditional libraries, may be replaced by online learing in the future, probably not in my lifetime. :) Students (of all ages)seem to be at a threshold now; trying to discern whether they can educate themselves about others and the world via 100% virtual relationships.I think many of us can't really see the benefit of face-to-face interaction until we go "whole hog" into the virtual thing. Once this immersion takes place most want to come back and spend a little time at the dinner table and library stacks.

Dawn, I agree with you on all counts - good points. Additionally, that the change in the minds of people to accept online degrees, you mentioned, is well underway. Current research indicates that many students who would have gone back to school (anyway) in the brick and mortar classroom have opted for the online because of the flexibility. In this way online learning is replacing some of the traditional classrooms. However, there does not seem to be an extinguishment of traditional classrooms indicated to occur within our lifetimes. Do you think there are any enhancements to online instruction that could be made which would move more students to choose online over face-to-face? What might they be?
