Strong Introduction

It is extremely important for instructors to demonstrate to students that their education is important to the instructor and the university. Instructors must have a presence on discussion boards and in the course room?

What are you thoughts?

Donald,
The balance is a great point - substantial, but not intimidating.

I provide students with my credentials, and let them decide what they mean. My attitude is that my job is to enlighten and empower students, basically as many people as I can before I die. In my opinion, an introduction should not be weak and sniveling, and at the same time not to be so strong as to put the student off. A delicate balance must be made.

Latasha,
The student to student interactivity has been an important part of the online classroom for a long time. Do you have preferred tools/methods of enhancing this? Thank you for your contribution.

Its always good for student to be able to discuss topic with one another and instructor it opens the relationship with instructor and student and student with student

ROBERT,
The best learning experiences that students have are often when the instructor models behavior that reflects their commitment to the student's education. I even remember a statement when a student told me, "You care more about my grade than I do." To which I replied, "It's not your grade that is my concern, it's your education."
