Sharing Academic Work
As a creative writer I'm always curious whether to share my "work" as in the books I've published. I don't want students to feel like they need to "buy" my book, but at the same time I like sharing with them that English can really get them somewhere. What do you think?
As long as you let them know why you talking about the book and you have a good explaination for bringing it up I dont see a problem. Let them know ahead of time that you are not telling them this because you want them to buy your book.
Amanda,
This seems to be very much a personal preference question, as opposed to right or wrong way to go about it. The only caveat might be your contract with the publisher. Would your 'sharing' violate your agreement with your publisher?
